The Weapons of War Global Prayer Watch was founded in 2009 by Apostle Tracy Gittens. It was in her heart to start a minstry where intercessors could gather and uninterruptedly intercede for the needs and conditions of other. She envisioned a 24-hour center of prayer and Rapid Prayer Response Team. The prayer call began in February 2009, with Apostle Tracy and two women from her church Apostle Carlane Mitchell and Evangelist Chonita Glenn. Before the conference line existed, they would do a three way call on the phone one evening a week. After attending a ministry graduation and promotion in Maryland another woman got wind of the prayer call and joined. Her name is Elder Essie Jones, and she has been the greatest evangelist and expander of the Weapons of War, having invited so many intercessors to the line from various regions, many who have continued with us through many years, as well as expanding the hours of prayer. We honor those women who have been with Weapons of War Global Prayer Watch since 2009: Elder Essie Jones, Elder Sarah Morgan, Elder Dollie Henderson, Pastor Harriet John, Elder Gertrude Thomas, Elder (DR) Wilma Glover & Elder Adrienne Cato. We are grateful to the many intercessors that have been an integral part in the success of the Weapons of War prayer line.

The prayer watch started as an urgent response to connect intercessors to those needing a breakthrough prayer for emergency situations. We have been referred to as a “lifeline”.

Through the years W.O.W has touched thousands of lives through prayer and intercession. The foundational scripture that we stand on is found in Jeremiah 51: 20 (NKJV),

You are my battle-axe and weapons of war: for with you

I will break the nation in pieces; and with you I will destoy kingdoms.

We have witnessed the mighty hand of God in the manifestation of miracles, of numerous healings, and breakththroughs.
